| Background | Henk Buurma got his PharmD in 1978 at the University of Groningen. Until 1985 he was part-time member of the Social Pharmacy department of this university, but also community pharmacist in Hoogeveen (until 1980) and pharmaceutical consultant. Since 1985 he is community pharmacist in and director of the academic pharmacy Stevenshof in Leiden. Since its foundation in the early nineties he is also director of SIR Institute for Pharmacy Practice and Policy, which is affiliated to this pharmacy and with the department of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacotherapy of the University of Utrecht. In addition to his involvement of several research projects we like to mention his former editorship of the Geneesmiddelenbulletin and his co-authorship of several books, such as Geneesmiddelen in Nederland, Het Juiste Medicijn and Het Geneesmiddel. | |

| Background | Jolanda de Bie is a social science researcher, with a masters degree in health psychology (University of Amsterdam,1998). She obtained her PHD at the EMGO Institute of the VU medical centre in Amsterdam (2006) with her thesis: 'Reserved procedures in Dutch health Care'. This thesis followed the Evaluation of the Individual Health care Professions Act (ZONMW 2002) of which she was a co-author. She has worked for SIR since 2004 and, among other things, was involved in research on quality year plans and reports, quality indicators for community pharmacies, WGBO in the pharmacy and the online research panel for pharmacy employees: PAM. | |

| Background | Anne Leendertse obtained her PharmD in 1999 at the Utrecht University. From 1999 till 2002 she worked as a community pharmacist in the Netherlands and was also teaching and working with the Health Base Foundation on pharmaceutical care. From 2002 till 2005 she studied Clinical Pharmacy at Strathclyde University, Glasgow with clinical experience in Edinburgh hospitals. In 2007 she obtained her MSc Clinical Pharmacy with distinction. Since 2005 she worked as a researcher in medication safety at the Utrecht University and conducted the HARM-study and the PHARM-study. She successfully defended her thesis on Hospital Admissions Related to Medication, prevalence, provocation and prevention on September 30, 2010. She is also a member of the General Committee of the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy. Since May 2010 she is working for SIR Institute for Pharmacy Practice and Policy. | |
